Delectable Nepali BBQ – Sekuwa

In Kathmandu, you will probably find plenty of restaurants that serve Sekuwa. It is a very popular snack in Nepal. It is often served with “Chiura”, “Achaar and Tongba.   The meat is marinated with natural herbs and spices and then roasted in wood fire that gives it a smoky taste.

Foodmandu has a few restaurants that are only dedicated to specialize in Sekuwa.

Taas & Sekuwa Mahal

Like the name of the restaurants says, “Taas & Sekuwa Mahal” specializes in Taas and Sekuwa. Established on B.S 2068, “Taas & Sekuwa Mahal” has been famous for their special delicacies.

 

Bajeko Sekuwa

Baje Dinanath Bhandari is the man behind “Bajeko Sekuwa”. It all started with small shop with a few stools. This restaurant is a renowned restaurant that has a lot of branches inside Kathmandu. “Bajeko Sekuwa” is highly recommended to experience the true taste of Sekuwa in Kathmandu.

 

Bhetghat Restaurant

Mr. Govinda Tiwar, initially from Pokhara established a small shop for the breakfast and dinner. With life not being the way he wanted it to be, He decided to gamble. While gambling, he prepared a dish to serve his customers and he named it “Taas”. He served it to the customers and the feedback he got after that encouraged him to continue this business. Now, Mr. Govinda’s small shop has turned into “Bhetghat Restaurant”. They specialize in many Tass and Sekuwa items and has branches in Kathmandu and Chitwan.
